Group Counseling

Your invitation to group work –

The Counseling Center offers a variety of experiential groups which allow participants to gain the insight and courage necessary to take action to improve the quality of their lives. Counselors have chosen fun, informative, and thought provoking activities designed to help participants safely explore themes related to developing a firm sense of who they are and what they want out of life. Commitment to a group allows one to build trust, give and receive genuine feedback, practice interpersonal skills, and experiment with new ways of relating to the world. Group work is often the most beneficial counseling choice for healthy college students striving to grow and to make their lives more fulfilling.

Personal Growth Group – This group will explore what it takes to build a happy and meaningful life. Members will participate in research supported, experiential exercises that promote improved self-appraisal, emotional well-being, self-compassion, and healthy dependency. Members will deeply explore who they are and what they want out of life. They will also gain insight into the art of resiliency which allows one to:

  • Learn to overcome most of what life puts in your way
  • Have the confidence and courage to steer through new adversities
  • Bounce back from major setbacks
  • Reach out to broaden your worlds
