Ceremonies and Eligibility

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in one of two Commencement ceremonies in the Steele Hall fieldhouse on Saturday, May 18, 2024, if:

• You completed or anticipate completing bachelor's/master's degree or advanced certificate requirements in January, May, August or December 2024.
• You earned your degree or certificate requirements in August or December 2023, and did not participate in the May 2023 Commencement ceremony.
• You have not participated in an earlier Fredonia ceremony for the degree you are earning.

If you expect to complete your degree requirements in J-term 2025 or later, and have extenuating circumstances which will preclude you from participating in Commencement 2025, you may complete the online Appeal Form before Wednesday, April 8, 2024, to be considered to participate in Commencement 2024.

You must apply for your degree. The online Application for Degree form and submission instructions are available from the Registrar's Office online. Applications are also available in the Registrar's Office in Reed Library. Applications must be completed by Friday, Feb. 2, 2024. There is no fee to apply for a degree.

To participate in Commencement 2024, you will also need to fill out the Commencement Intent to Participate form. This form will be available to you on March 6, 2024, through Your Connection. You can only view this form if you have filled out your Application for Degree with the Registrar's Office. Please use this form to request your 4 initial tickets; you will also have the ability to request up to 4 additional tickets through this form (subject to available space). 

2024 Dual Ceremony Information

Students should communicate with their families their assigned ceremony. Tickets will be labeled for each ceremony.

For double majors, your ceremony will be according to your primary major - the one in which you'll receive your degree.
